Heavy production experience as Senior DB2/UDB Database Administrator in AIX, Linux, Win2000 and OS/390 environments with responsibilities that include day, night, weekend 24x7 on-call duties with total responsibility for all database functions in large, diverse, and mission-critical environments in many successful engagements. While as Senior DBA I have been responsible for daily DBA activities in the largest of production environments but also successful in associated areas such as database instruction and mentoring, data modeling, and SQL tuning.
While my primary responsibilities in the past have been in large database environments I pride myself on my ability to work with staff members who may be new to relational database theory or who need assistance with some of the various tools available. I enjoy working alongside application programmers, data modelers, and developers of all kinds to ensure that the tools we have are efficiently used. Having been an application developer I can relate to the special needs and requirements that developers need to understand high-performance database.
